Production Chain
Safety and quality are premises that we value in all stages of the development of our products. And it is only through a series of integrated and consistent operations that you can ensure that these attributes are controlled and applied throughout the process.
With a full integration structure, called Vertical Integration, all points in the chain are controlled, and responsibility is assigned. In this way, the company can guarantee the quality and safety of its products and manage its entire chain, from start to finish. This structure, of which the integrated producers are included, still includes:

Poultry Chain: poultry farm of poultry stock > hatchery > farmhouse > egg production farm > hatchery > integrated (fattening) > slaughtering > processing.

Swine Chain: great-grandmother’s farm > grandparents’ farm > farm SPL (Pig Producer System) > Granja SVT (Vertical System Terminator) > slaughter > processing.
From there, the whole process is done in our processing plants, which are the places where the raw materials are processed and transformed into products (ex, pork in ham or salami). It is only with the management of this structure that we can guarantee quality at every stage.
Management System
MBRF has units with management systems certified to internationally recognised standards that aim to meet quality, environmental, and safety standards

Food Safety
Food Safety certifications assess whether the implemented Management System meets the requirements to produce safe food, covering hazard control throughout the production chain and evaluating all stages of the process, according to the requirements of each Standard.

Religious Standards
MBRF holds religious standard certifications, which are formal recognitions that guarantee that products, services, or processes comply with the precepts of a particular religion.
Good Agricultural Practices
In addition to the certifications above, MBRF is also internationally certified for its production processes in the field, with continuous verifications and audits by its clients and international entities.

Animal Welfare
MBRF holds animal welfare certification attesting that it follows responsible and ethical practices in the treatment of animals, especially in agriculture and industry. For more information, please see the Animal Welfare page.

Import and Export Operations
The Authorised Economic Operator certification recognises companies that operate responsibly, transparently, and securely in import and export operations.
The company is also certified in the Security, Compliance, and Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) modules.

Halal certification
Halal certification is crucial for Brazilian businesses, especially in the food and beverage industry, as it opens doors to the Muslim market and enhances consumer trust. Since then, Brazil has become the world's largest exporter of halal poultry and beef products. Approximately 30% of protein exports are destined for Muslim countries with halal certification, a label that ensures adherence to Islamic traditions in animal rearing, slaughter, and processing.

S.I.F Approved
SIF (Serviço de Inspeção Federal)* approval is crucial for the legal and successful marketing of animal-derived food products, both domestically and internationally. It signifies that a product has undergone official inspection and is deemed safe for consumption, guaranteeing quality and safety standards.Without SIF approval, these products cannot be legally sold within Brazil or exported to other countries.

FDA Approved
FDA Approval has significant importance in Brazil primarily due to its role in accelerating the approval process for products already approved by equivalent foreign regulatory authorities, like *ANVISA. This can lead to faster patient access to new and innovative products, a more predictable regulatory environment, and strengthened trade relations between the US and Brazil. Additionally, *FDA approval* contributes to a more credible ANVISA on the global stage.

ANVISA
*ANVISA* in Brazil stands for the Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária, which translates to the National Health Surveillance Agency. It's Brazil's equivalent of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is responsible for regulating and overseeing various aspects of health and safety. *ANVISA's* main functions include regulating pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, and medical devices.

ISO Certificates
ISO certificates, particularly ISO 22000 for food safety, are crucial for the Brazilian poultry and beef industries due to their international recognition and impact on food safety, quality, and market access. ISO certification demonstrates adherence to rigorous standards, enhancing credibility, improving processes, and potentially opening up new export markets, especially in Europe and the US.

USDA and FSIS
USDA and FSIS approval is crucial for Brazil to ensure the safety and wholesomeness of meat, poultry, and egg products exported to the United States. The FSIS, through its Equivalence Process, verifies that Brazil's inspection systems meet U.S. food safety standards, allowing products from certified Brazilian establishments to be exported. This ensures that U.S. consumers are not exposed to foodborne illnesses.
